High Quality Sabre Yacht For Sale

If you are looking for a high quality and storied yacht building company from which to purchase a boat, then you should consider sabre yachts for sale. This company has been building Sail and Motor Yachts since the year 1970. Their two plants are based today in Raymond, Maine. This is around 25 miles to the north of Portland, or about a two hour drive from Boston. The sister company Back Cove Yachts manufactures its boats in the Rockland, Maine production facility.

Sabre Yacht Initial Founding

This company’s story started when Roger Hewson founded the firm in 1970. His goal was to construct the best possible 28 foot long sailing yachts. His two production components included fiberglass technology and production line methods. Over the course of the following 40 years, they expanded the size of their boats to up to 45 feet.

Subsequent Expansion

The year 1989 saw the Sabre company increase its market share with their creation of the “Fast Trawler.” This tri-cabin motor yacht was 36 feet long. In 1995, Sabre bought out North End Composites in Rockland, Maine. This significant builder of fiberglass parts and marine molds became a member of the Sabre family in March of that year.

The year 2002 saw North End Composites start construction on the Back Cove Yachts line up of medium to smaller single engine motor yachts. These boats range in length from 30 to 41 feet. Over 200 employees build the brands’ boats today.

Today’s Sabre Boats

The motor yacht line up today includes models that range from 38 to 66 feet long. The two styles of the boats are Fly Bridge and Salon Express models. Both models have cruising speeds that range from 20 to 25 knots but can reach 30 knots top cruising speeds.

When you decide to purchase either a Sabre Yacht or one from its sister company Back Cove Yacht, you should seek out an authorized dealer location. They will carry both new Sabre yachts and pre-owned yachts in fine condition. A reliable Sabre Yachts dealer will offer a full warranty of some kind on the used models.
