WASHINGTON/NEW YORK (Reuters) – The United States has tentatively authorized flights on eight U.S. airlines to Havana as early as this autumn, with American Airlines Group Inc ( AAL. ) receiving the most important share of the restricted routes, the Transportation Department stated on Thursday.

While low value airways are putting stress on the business, it is usually a chance for other airlines to re-place themselves. Like this quite small size Bangkok Airways who manage to survive and make a superb place in a niche market. Low cost airlines in Thailand are struggling because they cut too much value and that impacts their total operation, service and security. Quiet interesting really.
