Shelbourne, Nova Scotia is a unique town on the south shore of the province, about a 2.5-hour drive away from Halifax. It doesn’t have the star status of Peggy’s Cove and Lunenburg but what it does have is the third best natural harbour in the world, unobstructed waterfront views thanks to the filming of The Scarlett Letter in 1994 starring Demi Moore and Robert Duvall (which required burying electrical cables and refurbishing buildings), colourful 18th century buildings, great walking trails, beaches, a cool lighthouse, interesting museums, a microbrewery, a handful of wonderful places to eat – and most importantly, welcoming citizens who are happy to see tourists. Liverpool, Nova Scotia is under two hours by car from Halifax on Nova Scotia’s south shore at the mouth of the Mersey River. The town of about 2,600 people has a long history of privateering and rum running but today its better known for its beautiful natural landscapes and culture. This is the home of country music star Hank Snow who helped discover Elvis. That Elvis. You’ll find lots to do in and near Liverpool including visits to white sand beaches, trips to see several lighthouses, and hikes in both local parks and nearby Kejimkujik National Park Seaside. How to Get To Munduk

Munduk is located in the hills of North Bali about a 1-2 hours drive from Canggu, Seminyak, or Ubud.

The best way to get to Munduk would be to either hire a scooter or hire a private car with a driver, which is what I would personally recommend.

Scooter rentals are about 75,000 IDR (about US$ 5) per day, but if you’re not totally comfortable on a scooter then I wouldn’t recommend driving one to Munduk. The roads can be very hilly and windy in this region, so in this case, I would opt for the private driver!

A private driver for the day typically starts around 500,000 IDR (about US$ 33), but usually, that means you have them for a whole 8 hours! Especially because the weather can be a bit rainier in Munduk, it’ll be nice to have a comfortable car to sit

Is Kuta Worth Visiting?

Kuta seems to be one of those places where people love to hate and hate to love. It won’t come as a surprise that the opinions about this busy beach town are very divided.

So it is not weird that you might be wondering if Kuta is worth a visit. The short answer: it all depends on what you are looking for.

Party Animals (On a Budget)

As we briefly mentioned already, Kuta is known as the village that never sleeps.

Kuta is mostly favoured by young backpackers and budget party animals because it is an affordable place to go wild.

If you are looking for bars, restaurants and nightlife vibes Kuta will be an essential stop-off point. If you are hoping for peace and tranquillity, this town might not be the best place for you.

Best Things to Do in Sanur

There are plenty of activities to keep you busy in Sanur including the typical things you should do in Bali like souvenir shopping or getting a massage.

However, here are some activities unique to Sanur that you should check out during your stay!

Watersports

The beaches of Sanur are some of the most popular places in Bali to do watersports.

The conditions here are great for kitesurfing, parasailing, jet skiing, banana boats, etc. You can also ask one of the local fishermen to take you out for a catch!

Sanur isn’t necessarily known for having the most stunning beaches in Bali, however, it is known for having the most incredible sunrise.

How Many Days to Stay in the Gili Islands?

If you’re making a trip over to the Gili Islands, you’ll want to stay at least 2 nights. My original plan was to stay for 2 nights, but I ended up extending it to 3 because I loved it that much!

I think 3 nights is the perfect amount of time to get to explore the island, do some water activities, and then of course relax and unwind.
